Arrive at Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport. If you have arranged a Uniworld arrival transfer, you will be greeted by a Uniworld representative and transferred to the ship.
Budapest is an enchanting city that presents a vibrant mix of medieval and modern.
Your ship sets sail from Bratislava later this morning and heads for Vienna today. You may relax onboard all day, perhaps enjoying a drink on the Sun Deck and taking in the scenery as the ship wends its way along the Danube River. When you arrive in Vienna, youโll cap off your day with a private concert at the House of Strauss.
Vienna is a cultural treasure trove revered for its art and music (and sinfully rich pastries). Experience the โCity of Waltzesโ with a highlight tour of the city, as well as an expertly led tour of an extraordinary collection of art at the renowned Vienna Art History Museum.
You have leisure time after your tour to explore Vienna on your own. You might wish to visit the Albertina Museum, which houses one million old-master prints and an impressive collection of works by 19th- and 20th-century painters, ranging from Renoir to Rothko.
If you love fine wine, youโll love the twin villages of Tournon and Tain-lโHermitage. Tournon may be a small town, but stirring events took place here: A castle was raised on the hilltop in the 10th century to protect the region, and new fortifications were added over the centuries, including two โnewโ towers built to defend against Protestant attacks in the 16th century. Youโll see the handsome houses constructed by wealthy merchants and garrison officers when you walk through the Rue de Doux area, and youโll pass the 14th-century church and the oldest secondary school in France.
Ancient Lyon is a city of tantalizing contrasts, from Roman roots to stunning modern architecture and plenty of Renaissance flair in between. There's much to explore here, from the city's bike paths to the silk weavers' secret passageways. While you're in town, you might like to have lunch on your own at one of the many traditional bouchons that proliferate in the epicenter of French gastronomy.
The pace of life is decidedly more relaxed in Burgundy, where endless rows of grapes hang heavy on the vine. The capital of the regionโs wine trade, Beaune is renowned for its history, beauty, and highly prized wine, as well as its medieval-era hospitalโthe Hospices de Beaune.
Disembark the ship. If your cruise package includes a group departure transfer or if you have purchased a private departure transfer, you will be transferred to Lyon-Saint Exupรฉry Airport for your flight home. Alternatively, you can continue your adventure with an extension to Paris.
